    In his new home!

And so nice to be able to talk "horse" with others who really know what they're talking about. That hasn't been the case since I took him on. A nice return to "the old days"!

When turned out in his paddock after his arrival, he stood in the middle as if to say, "Is this for real?" And the shavings in the stalls - now that's a good 'up to your knees'!

What a relief! It seemed like for a while you were talking yourself into staying at the circus....so glad you got out after all! You will both be happier!

The change for him is like moving from Motel 6 to the Waldorf!

Had to accept that turn-out isn't 24/7, but it is half day. And the routine, training schedule, and feeling of horses' contentment at this barn more than make up for it.

I do think the 24/7 turnout idea wasn't bad initially, as he got his mindset away from the track. But with her adding to the collection, especially with the already inadequate hay, I now see the situation was much worse than I realized as I tried to stay in their bucolic setting. The lovely surrounding hay fields didn't necessarily mean the horse was getting enough!

And the other trade-off? It does take me just over an hour each way to get to the new place, but I'm not on COTH forums, or googling stabling/soundness issues for hours every night!!
