Default Cat with swollen shut eye.

One of my favorite kitties won't open her left eye today. I can't get her to the vet today. The closest emergency vet is 30 miles away and, well, I don't really consider this an emergency since she's eating and running around like normal.

Her face is a little puffy, though. I think I remember my old vet telling me to give my old maine coon baby aspirin when he had a fever. He was huge (25-30lbs). I bet my little girl has a little pain. Can I give her baby aspirin? She only weighs maybe eight pounds.

Vet tomorrow but I'd like to lessen her pain today if I can.

Is she running a fever? Normal rectal temp would be around 101.

Personally, I would not give any meds if you're going in tomorrow. You may mask symptoms.

But you mentioned it's just one eye? That makes me concerned. To me, that constitutes an emergency as it's an eye thing and since it's not bilateral, that means it's not just allergies or something. If her face is swollen too, she may have a tooth problem.
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.

Might be a reason, never an excuse...

I would go in tomorrow and not give anything today. Cool pack if she'll sit still for it.

I agree, no aspirin for cats. If he's otherwise happy just wait until tomorrow. Make sure its not an allergic reaction though (monitor his breathing). Hopefully just a scratch
