Default Help me out here - which GMOs offer a high score pony award at shows?

I know CDS California Dressage Society does.

    Any others?

Our local shows offer ribbons to specific pony breeds (obtained from the breed associations).

SWDC has a Pony Championship at Training and First levels.

yaya, do you know if the ribbons are solely for those registered with the breed registration that place/win or is it restricted to size (FEI pony card) and registration? I'm just curious as to whether or not there are pony [breed] awards specific to FEI pony eligible by measurement or if the breeds are more open (over height)?

thanks everyone- I am looking specifically for any GMO (other than CDS) that offers special pony ribbons (not breed sponsored) at their shows.

Rocky Mountain Dressage Society (RMDS) offers pony championship classes (both 1st and training, rider can be any age or division) at the championship show as well as year-end high point awards for ponies, again at training and 1st. I believe any pony that has a USEF pony card (under 14.2) is eligible, but I haven't known anyone who has ridden in it. A lot of the chapters within RMDS - it is actually one of the largest GMOs - also give pony year-end awards.

    Good to know.

Does ANYBODY else other than CDS offer a "high score pony" award at every single show?

    honeylips,

Does someone other than CDS sponsor the high score award? Did someone donate a trophy? Just curious as to how it got started.

Kentucky Dressage Association has an FEI pony division this year. They also offer pony classes in the National show, but I don't know if they offer championships for that division. Here's the Prize List if you want to peruse it.

exvet - I'm not sure who started it. But CDS does give a ribbon each show and an end of year high score winner plaque.

I'm trying to find out if any other GMOs are doing the same at EACH AND EVERY SHOW (not just at championships or offering the FEI Pony classes).

NCDCTA (NC) offers a high score pony award at their yearly championship show (at least they did the year we won it). They do not (to my knowledge) offer a POY (is that even a term yet) award.

At some of our local shows in Raleigh they will offer high score pony/ small horse award (under 15h I think is their cut off). These are not GMO awards, just ones offered by the show organizer.

The CDS award does make it extra fun to take my pony out to recognized shows, for sure!

Anne Gribbons' article in the last COTH was all about the importance of getting more ponies in dressage, and how critical ponies and pony-based riding schools are to the pipeline in Europe.
