I'm building up confidence after a few nasty falls. Previously, I have shown in events, show jumping, and dressage. However, this weekend my trainer wants me to do a hunter under saddle class & hunt seat equitation class at a local play day just to get some low key miles on.
I'm not a hunter & don't care about my placing but I don't want to do something that messes someone else up or embarrasses us.
Just don't cut anyone off! If you're used to riding in an arena with others you should be fine here. Half seat canter in the HUS and full-seat canter in the EQ. Good luck, I hope you have a good show and your confidence returns soon!
Do your best to avoid any traffic jams, and give yourself plenty of space so you don't get lost in the sea of horses. The quarter-line is where you'll want to show off your best in front of the judge. That being said, don't abuse the quarter-line either.
