    Default New CANTER Listing

I took this listing this afternoon and wanted to make sure my eventer friends here on COTH got a chance to see him quickly before he sells. I list all the ads I take on my facebook page so he has already been viewed a lot.
This is a really nice horse. His legs appear to be clean and he is sound. He was very quiet to handle. Stood well and had nice manners. Nice sporthorse pedigree and he has lasted after 48 start.

    This is "Waikiki."

He's handsome! I do have a question though, if he's only five and he's hitting the board, why is he retiring? Tia

Because he's not hit the board since last year and has been second to last in his last three starts? (And third to last in the fourth.)

Notes for his last race were "always outrun."

Sounds like he's not into the game anymore. (Although his record is 4-4-6, in 48 starts, not just one win)

    Lovely horse!!

He comes from my very favorite tail female line for sport--Alexander Mare of 1790 through her daughter Bronze. Excellent mitochondria in that line and they do tend to pass on the jump. Although her daughter the Orville Mare is the tail female for Secretariat.

Well, spoke to the trainer. There's someone going to look in the am. In case they pass I've started the arduous task of finding a vet that can do a quick PPE for me. I have a friend in the Baltimore area that can house him until I arrange shipping.

Looks like a fun project. Fingers crossed.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions regarding vets and travel arrangements . . .

Having just gone through this a couple weeks ago there are only 2 (yes!) vets that service the track up there. And my understanding is not many more that handle area farms.

    Good Luck.

If you need the guy I used let me know and I will send his number.

Well, Waikiki sold this morning. Good for him (didn't think he would last long on the market).

Thanks to Jenarby, Xctrygirl, and JudyBRP for all your help. Maybe next time!
