    Default Partial lease ?s

I am thinking of offering my two boys up for a partial lease. They are older husband horse types and I just don't have time for them. I know it would be better for them health wise to be in better shape.

Obviously I need to find the right person, but I am concerned about liability. Even the sanest horses in the world have brainfarts. Is there any way to protect myself? Is it even worth the risk?

What do I need to consider as far as a contract goes?

It is very inexpensive to get personal liability on a horse, ours is less than $200/year for $1mill in coverage. Require whoever leases them to take out liability on them. We have used ours from a horse related accident and I'm glad we had it.

How do you handle liability now? As long as you are still the owner that doesn't change if you lease the horse out.
