Default The transformation continues: our first recognized dressage show

We had so much fun... and although my wonderful pony was *definitely* confused the first morning ("Mom, where are the jumps?!") he was definitely a star and I enjoyed every minute.

I know! Isn't it awesome to not have to arrive several hours early "just in case"?

Thank you! It was such a lovely weekend... perfect weather, the people were SO nice, my horse was, as my trainer says, "on my side," and everyone did well. And our scores were better than I expected. Can't ask for much more than that, right?

The not-quite-reformed hunter princess in me thanks you from the bottom of my heart, LOL... I figure the least I can do is try to look the part while we are learning!!

I have to admit I do looooove the look of dressage braids, too

LOL, my old eventing pony who was trained "Be good in dressage and then we'll have fun" was quite bummed out at his first dressage show

Yes, exactly! But then I think my guy went, "wait... you just want me to WTC for five minutes then go back to my stall to eat? You call this a horseshow?!?!"

Thanks!!! We really did have fun! And I got my first 2 scores for my medal quest, which I was not necessarily expecting since it was our first recognized show, and only the second time I've taken him to a dressage show. On to second level, I guess!!

Nice job. I especially like the first photo in the set on FB. Very correct looking.

It appears that you did not succumb to a show bow? I never did when I rode dressage. But I also wore PPE on my head before it was a rule.

Aside from knowing when you're going to ride (and hopefully not sharing a trailer with someone that ends up riding at the opposite end of the day) another benefit is the dressage braids. I could crank those suckers out in about 20 minutes flat.
