One person can move it no problem. The basket just lifts out of the metal ring. Personally I didn't like ours as the horses just wasted the hay, but if you used it with a hay net also it might work well. Of course it may depend on the horse as well, ours just made a mess of it.

I do not like the waste, nor do I like feeding them on the sandy ground. This hay feeder seems to be the safest I have seen on the market. Your hay net over the basket will prevent them tossing out the hay, and slow down their feeding.
Glad to hear positive comments and a solution for the tossing the hay out that horses love to do so they can let you know how silly their human is...hah, now I can fix that issue with the hay net, which is an easy, inexpensive, quick fix. Super.
