Default Kissy Kiss had her foal this morning! now w/1st pic

My lovely OTTB mare Kissy Kiss had her Chairman foal sometime this morning or maybe last night. Despite plans for vets and helpers, etc, this was an unattended birth, about two weeks ahead of her due date.

It's good news, of course, because mum and foal are doing well, having had some time on their own to sort out their relationship.

I have been told that it's 'about 90% certain' that it's a filly. I don't want to ask what that means -- Glenbaer is away at a show and we have volunteers going to check on the new arrival, so I'm happy for any information.

    Will update...

A first image of the youngster:

I've received confirmation that this is a filly! She's a granddaughter of Cor de la Bryere, and about 13/16ths TB blood.

YAY!! Wasn't a filly what you wanted? Many congrats either way, a healthy foal is key :-D.

Another pic, this time with Glenbaer.

Also, Glenbaer has named her Misty.

Chairman was a dark bay, no? If so, no chance of gray.
I'm wondering if she'll be black like mama.

    Congratulations JER

She looks bay to me. Has a dorsal stripe, black legs.

Kissy Kiss is brown; Chairman was dark brown.

Kiss has 3 white socks and a big blaze but there's no markings on this foal. I always get fillies and I never get any white.

Oh! She's just beautiful (but I went past the foal pictures and am in love your cat who squeezed into the strainer).

That looks like the inside of a salad spinner to me.

She looks lovely & straight! Congrats on a lovely foal (who I think should be named Makin' Out or Smooch).
