Default FOUND - Black horse in Tennessee (but may have come from anywhere)...

Found only yesterday (Saturday), but AC is saying they will sign him over to a new owner on Tuesday. Hopefully, the current owner isn't out of town and will discover this before his/her horse is given to someone else.

Edited to replace with direct NetPosse info & link:
"Here is the NetPosse link. Notice that we have taken a great deal of information out of the report. The way the horse is being reported now almost anyone could pick it up and say it is theirs."

Damn, the county only holds a found horse 3 days?? Seems like most area hold stray dogs and cats are held at least a week to give owners a chance to reunite. If this horse is local and just got loose I sure hope the owner gets the message, ditto if it was stolen elsewhere and dumped.

Geesh, in Ky they have a pretty long time frame and you have to post notices in the paper - is AC immune to that? It's still livestock there in TN isn't it?

I live in Sumner County, TN... I have friends in animal control. I'm going to try to get the scoop...

    OK, here's the scoop--

Horse was found in a pretty non-horsey area. There's only a handful of farms with horses along that road, otherwise lots of development and subdivision.

AC literally checked with every horse farm in the immediate area. There's not that many-- I just rattled off a list to the officer and she has supposedly check with all the ones I named.

Horse is supposedly not in great condition, although I have not seen the horse with my own eyes. I can tell you the AC folks aren't really horse people. I was told the horse was "skinny and dirty."

A good horse person now has the horse, intends to keep said horse, but will gladly return the horse to the rightful owner if he/she materializes!
