Full Metal Jacket
Stand By Me
Spirited Away (anything by Ghibli, really)
Django Unchained (again, anything by Tarantino, really)
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
American History X
There Will Be Blood
Rebel Without A Cause
Other notables: 12 Angry Men, Moonrise Kingdom, Les Mis, Perks of Being a Wallflower, In The Loop (possibly the funniest movie I've ever seen), Hurt Locker, Lost in Translation, Lion King, Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Rocky Horror, Boyz in the Hood... I could go on...
I love all of your favorites but is it possible that nobody mentioned THE BIRD CAGE?
We can't pass it up and laugh uncontrollably. I even have much of it memorized.
Oh! Yes! I was in the grocery store and "She works hard for the Money" was playing. After that title line played ,I heard someone singing," eh, eh, eh, eh". Oh, Agador Spartacus!
I laughed out loud and turned to see who was singing ! She said she couldn't help it! The Bird Cage.
(I must confess, If "the Lion Sleeps Tonight" is played in the grocery store, I can't help but sing along, with enthusiasm!)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Life of Brian
The Princess Bride
Dead Poets Society
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
AT LEAST one of the Harry Potter movies
The King's Speech
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Number 11 would be How to Train Your Dragon or possibly Lion King. I enjoy action movies and some drama/suspense from time ti time, but my favourites that I watch again and again are usually heartwarming and/or funny and I think everyone could do with a dose of that! (with the exception of Dead Poets Society which is actually fairly sad, but I do love it.)
