Default CNN article highlight Grand National deaths

Opening sentence: "How do you like your sport? Blood, sweat, tears and a nailbiting finish, no doubt. But what about death?"

I love the movie National Velvet, but I don't think I could watch this race.
    A helmet saved my life.

2015 goal: learn to ride like TheHorseProblem, er, a barn rat!

If betting were taken out of the equation, probably the only people watching would be horse people--and likely the sport would change pretty quickly.

It's just all about money. I personally feel that we abuse the trust of these animals when we knowingly ask them to perform tests where failure is lethal. That goes for eventing, too . . .

There is no legitimate training purpose to "extreme" events but "thrills & spills" for humans. My stomach's not strong enough; I've seen too many broken legs in real life to want to see any on TV.
