Default Spin off from the Liberal, Socialism, etc. thread... What are you?

    What if you are:

    pro choice
    against partial birth abortion
    Christian
    pro environment
    pro fracking (with REASONABLE oversight)
    fiscally conservative
    anti main stream liberal media
all for smaller government ( so many redundancies!!)
    pro gun rights
    animal welfare advocate
    pro military
(but we need to NOT be everywhere- let the middle east duke it out on their own)
gay marriage? I think civil unions with equal rights for mortgage, healthcare, etc. - YES!
do the politicians and local government officials really need to make those ridiculous salaries and pensions, and oh by the way, be in charge of the size of government?
it would be nice if all of us in the private sector could just do that - things are slow, let's create a new business, then just take money from people to cover it (department of energy, department of education, cough, couch)

So what does that make one?

Oh I'll just throw this in for fun.... anti slaughter, but pro euthanasia

I just think that we might all agree on more than we realize.

You are actually a Liberal in the true politcial sense of the word, not the reworked American definiton.
There are Liberal Parties in many countries in the world, and their common thread is fiscal conservativism, small government, but generally socially progressive, i.e pro gay rights, pro choice, pro separation of church and state.

In the USA, somehow "Liberal" has come to mean left wing and is often equated with Socialism or Social Democracy. It really if something quite different.

    Food for thought.

I just cannot stand most of what this adminstration does, though.

I left out that I think helathcare should not be single payer
Provide a safety net by allowing people to apply for money to go out and buy insurance

There are a number of private practice doctors that take no insurance, just charge for services, and the services end up being MUCH cheaper.

Can't remember where I saw this article.

I think the insurance industry needed some tweeks, but not the ACA -it's ridiculous.

Why no selling insurance across state lines?
    Why no torte reform?

Those two alone would dramatically reduce premiums.

Nope, so far my premiums have jumped twice. Big jumps.

    Sorry, different topic.

I'd say you're just a tad to the right of center.

You sound to me to lean GOP/conservative. The main exception is the pro-choice issue. Most conservatives would not be for abortion of any kind. However, that issue is not the defining GOP issue, despite what most liberals want to think.

All other traits line up completely with a conservative.

I'd say libertarian leaning, except for the animal welfare part. What do you mean by pro military?

Wow, you and I think alike for 99% of the issues you listed. And 100% agree with you on Obamacare.
