    You can talk to your farrier about rolling the toes on the back hooves; to ease strain on the hocks.

    We did that with my old guy; he gets his lower hocks injected once a year as well.

    By the way, my vet is having me do the injections in a two-part series. She had her first injections last week and a repeat to follow in 5 weeks. Does anyone else do it this way? My vet says its been shown to help give a longer effect to the injections. But they're expensive and I don't want to do it again if it really doesn't make a difference. Anyone else have experience with this?

    My vet said he doesn't do injections any closer than 3 months apart
