    Meh, don't raise your blood pressure over other people crippling their children.

    Unless they are in your insurance pool. Then it's "Hey you kids, get outta my insurance pool!"

    Really, I am starting not to care about people doing dumb stuff on their own time and their own nickel. I limit myself to ranting about things that affect me more directly.

    I have vodka but no OJ. Would grape/cranberry juice do?

    1) You cannot fix stupid.

    2) The gene pool needs cleansing daily. And that includes the parents who are dumb enough to let their children ride at unsafe, unprofessional places.

    3) Lawsuits often correct situations when they are successfully brought for negligence.

    4) God often protects fools and innocents more than I EVER would.

    That just goes to show you how much ignorance there is with some people getting involved with horses. Not a helmet on a one of them.
    Yikes! Just wait till some kid gets bucked off and the parents sue.

    So Stushica;
    Are you really planning a visit to Lucky Acres?
    Please report back if you do.
    And from reading the comments/replies posted by Lucky Acre minions, you should have an interesting visit.
    BTW: those "girls" aren't - one of them has kids riding there.

    A thought:
    Maybe the place is owned by a medical supply company and named because of all the potential business?

    I saw the one mention a baby and had to <- no words, and I actually would. I don't however do the lets go meet pissed off random strangers thing myself so I do need a friend. I would also dip into my very very limited bank funds and leave them a few helmets if they would take them, I also have some really old helmets that I can compare the new ones to, because riding in a giant heavy sweaty old helmet really can give them a negative spin.

    It sound totally futile but I would hope that the MIA mom that knows everything there is to know about horses and apparently runs things would be there and be more receptive.

    I find that the older I get the less I care. There is so much stupid in the world and I'm capable of fixing only a teeny-tiny little bit of it. I save my effort for those I care about and those I can help. For the rest, well they're on their own.

    Guess we know why they call it Lucky Acres. They're just counting on Luck to see them through.

    It KILLS YOU? really?

    I guess if I let everything bother me so much I'd be on my couch in the fetal position everyday.... this is life. There are stupid people everywhere.

    I do think its quite rude to assault them like that, no matter how right you are.

    I'm actually a fan of the "name and shame" when it comes to "businesses" operating like this. It should be public knowledge that they put children at risk.

    It seems to have been edited, but there was a post about putting a newborn child up on a horse?! I can only presume they are on heavy narcotics.

    IIWM: I'd call the place and ask for the KnowsItAll BO/Mom.
    Talking to Herself might give you an idea if a trip is even worth making.
    Good idea about bringing helmets, but don't expect them to make use of the donation.
    You can only do so much {shrugs}
