I never respect stables like that. Ever. My trainer rode the jr/AA highs, trainer stallions from Germany, and one day she was hacking a thoroughbred she was retraining and freakishly became a human lawn dart. TBI. She wasnt right for months, if not a year. she wont even get on my gelding when we're just standing around without her helmet. ONE MORE fall on her head, and she's a vegetable. One more.

I'm sure she does honey, but even the best of the best have their days.

Wow, if you posted an affront to me or my business on my wall like that, no way would I listen to what you have to say no matter how right you are.

I read the posts and then had to check out the main page. I think its great that they are raising money for St. Judes. From the looks of things, it appears that they might be sending some new patients their way at some point....

Yeah, but it's not good for you.

But.. some folks have to learn the "hard way". Darwin et al.

Hopefully no child will incurr a TBI or die. If they do,it may be seen as "one of those things". If it does happen and a lawsuit results, then the stable will learn from the experience.

I understand your frustration, however we can't become much more of a nanny state than we already are, at this point in time, without having the state (and not the parents), responsible for raising children.

As a business owner with a facebook page, I agree with this.

But, as a rider and riding instructor, I also agree with the OP's point.

And, the juvenile and her BFF who responded to the OP's post certainly did nothing to improve the image of their facility.

Understandable, but I hope you would have a better response than "my mom says the horses are safe, mind your business!"

Let it go. You're not the one who's going to get sued when one of her mom's old, safe horses nails someone in the head.

Or if some uncoordinated child just happens to fall off while good old horse is plodding along. Lawsuit could be successful in either scenario..

You did come off very confrontational and it definitely could have been approached better, but those girls sound like they are 12 years old anyways. I know it's frustrating, but you're not going to get through their apparently very thick skulls when their argument is "I have been riding there for months and haven't been hurt yet!". Yes, months honey, you must know everything now huh?
