    Sadly, this horse is not looking sound behind at all to me. I do not think it's the footing. With hind suspensory problems, I don't see how dressage even at a low level can benefit him. Not all horses need a job. Some need to be retired.

    I'm sorry to say that I agree with ToN. Maybe your horse isn't ready to come back to work, or maybe he's as sound as he's ever going to be. But what I see in the video is a lame horse who's a lovely guy and trying to do what your trainer asks in spite of his lameness.
