Default Best barn in Central NJ for adult beginner rider?

In this case, beginner = someone who has had 2 lessons and also a few trail rides. Experiences some nervousness, but is not overwhelmed.

Also, the discipline isn't as important as safe, competent instruction and good horsemanship/horse care.

    Specific instructor recs welcome too.

    Thanks!

I know of two barns that have lesson horses that would be appropriate.

    In Cranbury: Silver Dollar Stables

    In Flemington/Ringoes: Rainbow Ridge Farm

I'm sure other people know of other places.

Lord Stirling Stables in Basking Ridge is a county stable with a lesson program. Not fancy, but good people. They have ring lessons, lessons on the trail and I think once you show them you can ride, you can rent to ride/trail ride

They also have a big Friends of Lord Stirling Stable group that gets involved in all sorts of things from a pony party program to bringing in clinics and demonstrations. We used to work with them on the Carriage Driving Event they ran for a while.

Mercer County Equestrian Center in Pennington caters to the beginner rider. It is another county run facility.

They have plenty of schoolies, great turn out and miles of trails, access to adjacent parks.

Another shout out for Lord Stirling - they do a great job with adult beginners in a non-intimidating atmosphere.
