Question Paintings done by a horse?

How much would a painting that was done by a horse sell for? Is there any market for them? My horse can paint and I want to donate part of the ( theoretical ) profit to horse and buddy therapeutic riding program.

There is a consignment shop in Aberdeen - near Southern Pines - where they have some art for sale that was, in fact, done by a horse. My daughter was really drawn to it but I cannot remember how it was tagged, where the proceeds went, etc. I'm sure you could call them & they'd share info - Barn Door Consignments, Aberdeen, NC

Since your horse paints, OP...how did you train him/her?

Metro and his family of humans are all "good people". High quality materials are used, and it takes quite a while to finish a painting. Please, check out his facebook page and website. Metro has raised a lot of money for rehoming OTTBs.

    Metro is a great painter!

OP, I'm also curious to know how you taught your horse to paint? After I heard about Metro I thought it would be so cute to teach my OTTB to paint but I couldn't get her to grab the brush so it never happened.

I once bought a painting done by Romeo. He no longer paints, but this site has some of his works and a tutorial on how to get your horse to paint.

My 25 year old TB made this for my daughter 2 Christmases ago. It obviously isn't for sale but was fun for both me and the horse to make.

Metro is a good painter. He and his owner seem to be having a good time with their painting, and they have raised a lot of money for TB rescue. I think Metro will be on the Today Show next week.

Yes, Metro IS going to be on the Today show and everyone is very excited about it! I have been FB friends with his owners for a couple years, and believe me, they never expected his painting gig to take off in this fashion. I am so impressed by how much money they have already raised for New Vocations, and also for Metro's care (he has awful, awful knees from his racing career). I think it would be great if other horses were successful, too!
