On a day when I was questioning humanity and the callousness of some of our fellow mouth breathers, this thread helps to renew my hope for us as a species (ok, melodramatic, but you get my point... ).

Kudos to all involved in changing the future for this lucky guy. Oliver, blessings and dreams of green pastures for you, buddy. You hit the lotto.

While we absolutely appreciate folks' desire to help out, we don't allow fundraising for non-501c3 charities on the site, so we had to remove the Paypal link, etc.

    Thanks,

:-) Here are his updated 2 week pictures. He looks so much happier and brighter! I know she was hoping he'd be filling out more but I think it's going to take some time, his body is probably soaking up the nutrition for his internal parts before it will show on the outside. She said he has lots a lot of the hair along his topline and some on his face from treating the rain rot. He's had bloodwork done and is being treated for ulcers. He gets fed 3 times a day with beet pulp and alfalfa cubes, and has free run outside with access to a stall when he feels like it. She says he still lifts up his feed pan after every meal, asking for more :-)

There seems to be something about chestnut TBs with stars that seems to brings out the horse fairy rescue.

Maybe they wish upon their own stars.

Oliver is doing SO much better! Even feeling good enough to make faces at his donkey friend when it's feeding time. He lost a good amount of hair across is back due to rain rot, and with applying MTG it's finally growing back. I'll post photos this weekend, the difference in his weight is definitely noticeable now

Debbie also just took in a 4 year old QH mare. A guy she got a gelding from with EPM last year put her on a trailer and took her to Debbie's house completely unannounced and stated that if Debbie didn't take her, he was taking her to auction. Apologies for the limited updates, between my job and Debbie's full barn it's been difficult to find the time to post!

I'm so glad to get this positive update, and will be even more anxious to see pics.

Llanura I'll post for you since I know you're busy! These photos are after one month. I love the first picture, you can see the life in his eyes, how happy he looks compared to before.

Wonder how the old TB mare Always Funny is doing in VA?

OH that is so great, I was thinking about him again last night! He is a lucky boy to have found an angel to rescue him!

Oliver last night, 5/3. He hung out with me and my husband while we were standing in the barn talking. It seems like he'll have a really sweet personality.

    Faith in humanity: Restored.

Oliver is very lucky to have the angels he does. All of you who helped get him to a good home are amazing!

Tweeter, yup! If you want to visit, let me know!

Oliver got super lucky with Debbie. Hopefully within another two months he will be at a normal weight and ready for a job. If not, he is one pretty pasture ornament!
