If only all 1%ers spent their money this way. :-)

Good luck to Jessica with her new ride.

Agreed. I also think he spent that much on her Maclay horse as well.

She has obviously had the best of everything since day one, but she is a heck of a rider. I wish them both well.

Darragh is a super nice guy and a great rider....I'm sorry he lost the ride, but congrats to him on the huge payday and I'm glad the US has acquired another incredible animal!

You have to admit that you can't get to that level without hard work and being very good, no matter where you come from.

Best of luck to her and the mare.

So this horse was not "born in the USA?" He grew up working class in NJ. Good for him for making millions and enjoying his glory days through his daughter.

I'm glad he supports his daughter, but he should lose the soul patch.

They bought Lisona, a mare ridden by Darragh Kerrins.

She's done pretty well with Vindicat. Winning some YR and A/O stuff and a 1.50m class a few weeks ago.

Jessica is a great rider and lovely person. We're lucky to have a patron like Bruce bringing top talent to the US

Better than spending it on booze and drugs I suppose. You can't take it with you.

Ok. Ill admit it, I'm jealous. I so imagine that lifestyle! Bruce is a huge philanthropist, as well.

Pennywell Bay, there are downsides to being famous. A couple of baseball players had their kids at my daughter's school. You can never go anywhere without being recognized, and in one case, security. I don't think it's all it's cracked up to be.

Now if I could be fabulously wealthy and keep it to myself, heck yes.

Can anyone get to Maclay without a huge chunk of money anyway?

I admire Jessica for being a junior at Duke and keeping up with a rigorous riding schedule. Good for her, and I will be cheering if she is at Rio 2016. Seeing my sister struggle through her Jr. year at Duke I have no idea how Jessica keeps up.
