    Default My new project horse

On Thursday I brought home (from North Western NY state) my newest project horse.

ArtCeltic Tiara (aka Celtic Tiara http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/inde...small_font=1&l=) is by the ArdCeltic Art, currently competing at Intermediate level in Eventing (top 10 at Jersey Fresh), and,IIRC, 4th level Dressage. She is out of the TB mare Jasmine and Lace.(She is registered with ACPS as ArtCeltic Tiara, and with ISR as Celtic Tiara)

ArdCeltic Art is 15h, and Jasmine and Lace is 15h2", but Tiara is already 15h1" at "almost 2" (she will be 2 in April), and the string test says she will make a full sized horse.

It was a long trip, and she was a bit nervous at first, but she figured it out and travelled like an old hand, even when there was a flat tire on the trailer and I had to change it on the side of Rt 15, ~20 miles north of Harrisburg. She spent the night in a stall, able to see and sniff the other horses through the stall bars on either side, and she is spending today in a paddock, sharing a fence with the others.

I'll start actual introductions at the weekend.

Thanks to amastrike for letting me know about her (I was specifically looking for something by ArdCeltic Art, but all I could find were ones that were going to stay pony sized, or "might" make 15. And thanks for a completely stressless purchase process, including a "remote" vetting".

I'll update later with more recent pictures, which are on the other computer.

Didn't realize you sold Chief, Janet. Congratulations! I enjoyed watching you bring him along over the years. I'll look forward to seeing the new mare.

Yes, I sold Chief in early December to a woman in Unison who hunts 3 times a week, with Piedmont and Loudoun West.

Wow. Jealous! I love ArdCeltic Art and would love something by him, or breed to him (well, if I had a mare I liked enough to breed). He's so much fun to watch! This looks like a lovely girl! Can't wait to watch her grow up!

Hopefully she'll stop looking like a cross between a woolly mammoth and a mule soon!

You should have seen Chief at that age- he looked like one of those horses made out of a barrel with a saw horse for legs!

Both Gillain and my vet, wh0 was by today, said nice things about her.

Look forward to following your journey. I like her TB side, saw Grey Dawn race when I was a young'un at Santa Anita. Reflected the Mahmoud, smallish but good bodied, nice head, grass horses mostly that liked some distance.

She reminds me of my pony looking 15.3 Hunter mare also with Mahmoud. Bit of attitude but never, ever quit or let me down when it counted. Best of luck.

Congrats! We have a coming 2yr old filly by ArdCeltic Art as well and she is just the sweetest thing (she is 1/4 tb, her dam having been a connemara tb cross by Grand Finn Sparrow out of a tb mare).

I adore connie crosses (I did my first prelim on one as well), good luck with her!
