    Default Spring Bay Training helmetcam.

We finally had a decent weather weekend in Lexington for the Spring Bay HT, it's been a non-existent spring here. The XC course was long and hilly, a little worrisome for fitness on our first run this year. But the beast was fitter than I thought. I didn't wear a watch because 1). I don't look at it anyway, and 2). I wasn't going to push him based on a time. But we came in at 5:20 on a 5:52 course, I think the lines Nad Noon told us to go saved time and rode well. ACME, if you're there, I do think it's time for a new helmetcam, so which one did you get again? Anyway, we were double clear and ended up 9th. One rail in stadium and a bit of fizz in the dressage ring!
    C'mon spring!

Love that woohoo! at the first fence Must feel good to be back in the game this spring after the looong drawn out winter! Glad I got to ride along. We'd thought about doing Spring Bay as our first Training this year, but decided to wait since weather was a little unpredictable the past few months. Great ride!

    Thanks for the ride!

Tess probably will not be back showing until MayDaze or IEA, so your videocam was just what I needed.

I spent my Sunday at Spring Bay jump judging over on the Novice, BN side, so did not get a chance to see Gryhrs or you.

Kudos to Mary Fike for giving the volunteers a coupon towards schooling after one of her events. Or, you can use it to take $10 off an entry fee for KY Classique or Team Challenge. It was much appreciated and a very nice thing to do for us!

Kudos to Carolyn Borgert, who coordinated the volunteers for jump judging, then added an extra hat of TD, when the scheduled TD had an emergency. She did this with her usual grace and kindness to everyone.

It was good to see Flight Check, before she started announcing for Riderboys' side of things.

    Riderboy,
Congratulations on a great run! What a good way to knock off the cobwebs. What is your next event?

Awesome, RB!! Jayce (my apologies, Fernhill Jaycee ) looked so happy to be back out. You guys are da bomb shadizzle.

The new helmet cam is the Contour Roam2. It's MUCH more user friendly than the old Contour and slides right on the same mount. Ordered it from Amazon and got it 2 days later. Better stability, better picture, and one step recording. No more stupid button to forget to push

Thanks guys. I think Penny Oaks is next for us Auburn, glad Tess is doing better. And thanks ACME for the info. Here's a photo of jump 4, I was pretty nervous for this course, don't know if it was just because it was our first run of the year or because the course seemed a little beefy.

Such a fun weekend. Thanks Auburn and all the volunteers for all your hard work. Kudos to Debbie Hinkle and crew for such an well run and organized show. I so admire all the work by Masterson Equestrian Trust and Sally Lockhart to maintain one of the few remaining wide open spaces to ride xc.

I got the "nice horse, rider sucks" in dressage but a clean xc made my weekend!!

We missed the show because we were in Southern Pines. Finally a nice weekend! Looks like fun - our first show is River Glen with a planned move up at May Daze. When will we see you guys?

Jump #4 is the one that a horse ended up straddling near the end of the division.

After the rider dismounted, the horse caught his breath and as the fence crew began dismantling the fence, he extracted himself. No apparent injury.

Other than that all Training fence problems were at either the bank up/down or the coffin.

I heard you guys had fun in Southern Pines! We'll see you at Maydaze, no move up for us yet, still have to work on a few things. We will definitely be cheering you on, however!
