    I'm so sorry Are they doing a necropsy? Would be nice to have a diagnosis, to figure out if he was intentionally poisoned, if other horses are at risk, etc.

    I agree somewhat - I'd be worried about something in the hay or the pasture or that fell over in the feed bin. Poor guy, RIP.

    No, no necropsy. (limited funds) It is certainly a very odd thing, as there were two other horses pastured with this horse for three months this winter that are fine - no symptoms at all, and they are happily back to work. They were in the same pasture, fed the same food, drank the same water. So I doubt they ever know what caused poor Jerry to get so sick.
