One of the boarders at my farm owns Nuk, a 10 year old QH gelding, who has shown thru novice and schooled training. Her own pony has a lot of go, Nuk she has to kick on, but at this stage of her riding, he's perfect.

Her comment as she came out of the water was "I love this horse!"

In stadium the day before, she trotted the 18" jumps, accruing 50+ time penalties

I haven't convinced her to like dressage yet, either.

She'll fit right in - I am starting to appreciate dressage, now that I have been eventing for 40 years

She'll appreciate it more when she starts trying to get the "stadium canter."

In the meantime, she looks great, and game, and happy. And that's a perfect horse.

I wish I had been exposed to eventing before I was in my 40's! But she will actually have to memorize her dressage tests, which she just hates doing. Walking her stadium or tadpole xc, no problem, she can remember where all the jumps are. Circle where???? Her brain just can't be bothered Lots of fun now that she has the bug........

Too Cute!! Thanks so much for sharing, it brought back memories of my daughter (now 17) when she started. It's been my experience that they start to "like" dressage when they work out they could have won a ribbon if the dressage had been a bit better!

Awwww! The future of eventing is right here, folks. She and the horse are a great pair.
