Deja Vu all over again. I remember when you decided to breed to MP. So you will have had three generations. Pretty cool!

My homebred will turn 20 tomorrow. I have loved every minute of him.

So.... did ultrasound confirm that the check is, in fact, in the mail? Too bad it takes so long to cash a new baby horse check. 11.5 months? Really? What kind of bank is that?

No ultrasound yet . . . much too early. We're still strictly on paper. I wouldn't wish any foal to have the misfortune of being born in Michigan in March.

My SO (stallion owner, in this case, not Mr. Heinz!) is pushing me to breed my mare earlier than I'd planned - I was shooting for May-ish, though even with babies born in April we're still battling mud season in OR - and I'm trying HARD to resist. Her program is focused more on racing and the idea of a baby born in May/June is totally crazy to her, which I understand. It IS tempting. My mare was actually a July baby. She (Westphalian, though actually 50% Trak blood) is also being bred to a TB, although a local one.

    So excited for you!

Very cool. He is on the short list for two of my mares. Possibly this year for one of them but haven't made my final decision (she's due with this year's foal in early May so was waiting to make sure she will be ok to re-bred on her foal heat....yes, I'll need to move fast!). He's a lovely stallion and you have a very nice mare. Should be a great cross!

I like breeding later in the season as well When I worked at Windfields I always felt bad for the little tb foals born in January LOL... they did have a heated stall, but still... Canada is way too friggan cold!

I would really want my foals to come into the world in the perfect warmish spring weather though
