Default Please help me win this contest for my mare!!

Hi Everyone! I am in desperate need of help in winning a contest for a free breeding for my mare. We are 30 "likes" away from the leader right now. Here is our story and following that is how to vote.

This mare is very special to me and I would be honored if I could win a breeding to QTsGold Mastercard. Her registered name is Awesomes Magic Clu aka Maggie. She is a 2006 QH mare. I have been with Maggie since she was 6 months old. My cousin's grandfather raised halter horses and it was his passion. He loved his horses, but loved working with them and showing them off even more. I halter broke his 2006 fillies with him that summer, but never knew the bond that would be created with this horse further down the road. The next fall, "Papa Steve" asked me if I would help him break Maggie so he could sell her. As soon as I started working with her, I instantly created a bond that could never be broken. My mom and Papa both saw it and were amazed. Sadly, right after I bought Maggie from him, Papa Steve passed away that winter and never got to see how far Maggie and I have come. I know he would be proud of everything she and I have done together. Papa was very particular about the horses he liked, but I know he would approve of Maggie having a foal by QTsGold Mastercard.

Why don't you just BUY a breeding to this stallion if it's so important? His stud fee is far from astronomical ($750 base).

And regardless of how "special" the mare is to you, have you objectively determined without any sentimentality that she is truly breeding material - especially in this economy? Are you set up for breeding her & raising her foal & everything that goes with it - physically & monetarily - now & later?

Because frankly, I find it really scary that someone is in "desperate need of help in winning a contest for a free breeding". Especially for a stud fee as low as $750. The stud fee is the very cheapest part of the breeding equation.

I was planning on buying the breeding before this contest came up. I am financially able to afford all the costs, but I'm so close to winning! Yes, this mare is definitely breeding material. Temperament, trainability, conformation are all impeccable. I'm not breeding just to breed.

I know the stud fee is the cheapest part of having a foal. I have already raised one from another mare. I was just asking for support to hopefully win the breeding to produce a great quality foal that will be easily trained and not just some unregistered backyard breeder's horse.

I can't believe all the free breeding contests going on right now.

Anyway, links are borked for me, even if I'm already signed into FB.

Why do you "desperately" need to win this contest if you can afford the stud fee? Maybe you should let some one else who cannot afford it win the free breeding.
There was nothing in your story that indicated you haveto breed this mare.

Come on folks, the question of whether to breed is a separate one. If you had the chance to save $750 on something you were going to do anyway, it's hardly a bad thing.

I share your thoughts. Some posters are boardering on being rude just to stir things up. If she doesn't win, she'll pay the breeding fee. Why not try to win?

    OP, your links don't work!

I think the words "desperate need. . . . for a free breeding", followed by a long rambling totally irrelevant story have something to do with it.

That's not what the OP said. She said she is "desparate for help" in winning the contest, not breeding the mare.

And so she is: You can more easily find $750 on your own than a bunch of FB likes.
