Default Free Reg AQHA buckskin 8 yr old mare

I am looking for a forever home for a 8 yr old 14.2 AQHA buckskin mare.
She is handled everyday and has had tack but never finished. I know I should have done something but I have had a very bad 4 yrs in my life due to the economy. I have contracted everyone I know, farrier vet rescues etc but there is no one.
I have very old horses that need to be cared for and with only part time jobs that come and go it has been difficult to say the least. I just can't put down my old ones just because. So I am trying to find a home for her. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her. She is a doll to handle, very fancy. I guess she is on the small side but she is breed to be a reining/cow prospect. I purchased her as a PMU foal. She will go with her papers and contract that she will have a forever home. I hate to be picky but I have heard horrible stories of free horses going to slaughter. Please pass this on.

Where is she located, and is she suitable as a husband horse? I have a friend who is looking for something quiet for her husband, would only be used for light riding for a timid rider. I can put the miles on her, but quiet is a must for him. Her horses stay with her for life - she currently has 2 senior mares that she bred, a rescue Standardbred gelding and 2 mini donkeys.

Like I said, I can put the miles on her if her temperament is suited to becoming a husband horse.

I am sorry I didn't know my post was up yet. I am located in Hardwick NJ
Her name is Fancy Page http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/fancy+page
She is registered and is eligible for Naeric programs. She is very quiet. Handled everyday she goes out and is stalled at night. I do have a picture of her taken two weeks ago I have no idea how to link it to this post. Sorry.

I am in Hardwick NJ. She is unbroke. She will need miles. I can honestly tell you she is a quiet easy horse to deal with. She is not spooky at all.

Ahhhh it figures. I used to live in Hamburg, NJ. My bff lives in Hardwick. I'm in southwest VA now though. Not sure when I'd be coming to NJ again.

Don't apologize for being picky and be sure you have an enforceable contract. You are giving away a nice horse. You and she deserve to be protected.

I sent a message to Alibhai's Alibar which is her screen name on COTH. She is a professional photographer who routinely photographs the horses at a kill auction in NJ. She has quite a few rescue contacts so hope she can help. You should probably reach out to her too. You can look up members by going to the member list, she is around page 17 in the As. Blessings to you and hold on!

Thank you for reaching out to me, Calamber.

hardwick, if it would help, I can try to drive up and take pictures of your mare to help network her (free of charge). I'll send you a message with my phone number.

Hopefully the horse was placed. She is in a crisis, so imagine that answering back if the horse is placed is not high on the list. I hope everything is okay. You can send a message to Sarah though, she is very prompt and helpful!
