oh man, you would not let me keep a horse in a field with a pond... esp. here in winter... last week, two lost dogs were found... yep, at the bottom of the pond at their own farm. The ice gave way. This is so scary.
So glad the firemen were willing to help and the horse will be ok.

I've had to rescue a pony from a mud pit before.
He only had one back leg free and we couldn't even see one front leg (scary thoughts/fearing the worst)
There were only three of us armed with ropes and shovels, but the little guy made it out perfectly fine, just very dirty.

    Wow. That is terrifying!
I heard a neigh. Oh, such a brisk and melodious neigh as that was! My very heart leaped with delight at the sound. --Nathaniel Hawthorne
