Default Naming a farm - any suggestions?

We are getting close to closing on our dream farm! Hurrah!

Now, we are trying to name it. It is a 20 acre farm, the land is primarily pasture with just a couple acres of woods. We have lovely views facing the South. The barn is an absolutely gorgeous circa 1900 structure that has been beautifully rehabbed and maintained. There is an outdoor arena from which you can see the lovely views of the hills and valleys to the south. We are located in the Finger Lakes which is known for its Greek mythology themed names. Property has several springs and a small gorge on the property (although it is hard to get to and you can't see it unless you are pretty much in it )

We primarily work with TBs/OTTBs, some WBs, and we event.

    Any suggestions?

So far the winner is "Delatour Farm" - its a take on the original name that our last name is derived from. I like it but I'm worried its confusing and hard to remember, but I like that it is original.

Here are the others currently in the running:
    South Springs Farm
    Gorges View Farm ("gorgeous" view)
    Lakeland Farm
    Hidden Gorge Farm
Aegle Acres (Aegle being Greek for light/glory)

    Anyway...anyone have any more suggestions??

    Here are a few more:
Far Side Farm (we are on the "far side" of the hill from the town we live in, oh and the cartoons are funny )
For The Hills Farm (we are way up on top of a hill)
Fortnight Farm... i just like the word fortnight and we are about 2 weeks away from moving in if all goes to plan, as of today.

I like Delatour but use it with something like "Delatour Springs Farm". It touches on your name and the springs that are on your property...or "Delatour Stream" farm. What do you feel when you are on your new farm? What are your favorite parts of the farm? I think it's better to name it around you and what you love about the farm vs. the area (finger lakes, greek names). Make it about your property - about you and what it means to you. The word "gorge" doesn't sound right to me in the farm name but "Springs" brings up all kinds of neat feelings and pictures in my mind. Good luck and congratulations!! Would love to see pics of the views - it sounds beautiful!

"Hidden Gorge Farm" is nice. I like names that are topographical, cultural/historical, or descriptive. HATE the cutesy-poo stuff like "Shoestring Farm" or "Atlasta Farm." Those just sound undignified.

I like Delatour Farm and i don't think it is hard to remember/ say/ confusing. I would suggest living there for a bit before settling on a name. I changed the name of my farm 3 times! Finally I just settled on using part of the name of my foundation mare (Dorfblume...she came with the name and means "village flower") and what I put on the end of all the horses I breed (Roseblume, Borealis Blume, etc.)....farm name is Blume Farm. It just finally fit!

I like farm names named for land features - three trees farm, three rivers, so here are my suggestions:

    Three Gorges (farm)

    Spring Gorges

I too thought of South Springs Farm

    Also,

    South Gorges Farm

    Thanks, great suggestion!

Hi kate! Unfortunately I'm taking Shasta to VT before we move, she is going on trial to be sold and I can't imagine they won't love her. But I am bummed that she won't be going with us :/

NO! Well, I am sure you will fill the barn with lots of other great ponies!
