I know euth is looming. I`m going to try to arrange it so my family can say goodbye. The boys had already left for school.

It was a long shot from the beginning but at least you gave her a chance. Godspeed.

Just got back from the vet. Shadey`s blood counts are very high, but we are giving her the next 24-48 hrs to see if we can still save her. They are doing an IV flush (dialysis), exrays and more blood work.

I will have more information later this afternoon.

You and Shade are in my thoughts.

I've seen what appears to be kidney failure reverse before; hopefully this will be the case with the dialysis.

Shade is doing ok at the vet. She is resting quietly beside the vet while she does her paperwork.

So far the vet says the kidneys look ok on the exray. The urine sample was diluted so that wasn`t a good sign. And we are waiting on blood results from today.

She is still not eating, but is otherwise perky and alert. She watched a vet tech play with another dog and was very interested.

I have`t given up hope completely yet. She does seem a bit better today, but I do know the medication may just be masking it. I really hope we are doing the right thing, I don`t want to prolong any suffering.

Did they do bloodwork before the surgery? Was she on IV fluids during the procedure?
