Default My horse's first event -- XC pictures

Wish it had been me riding her but with career changes it would not to be. Still, I'm so proud of her. She jumped around x-c clean with a couple of time faults, per the plan to get her to do some trotting and be polite to her rider. She jumped around stadium clean too... except for the fence they forgot to jump, oops. TE stands for "terrific, except," right?

Her dressage was respectable if a bit tense, possibly due to the helicopter that took off as she started. Really. She would have gotten a pretty white ribbon were it not for the oops but that really doesn't matter. Here she is. I think she's even nicer than she looked in the Trainer Challenge.

What a good looking horse! I loved the pics of her rider giving her "good girl" pats in the water

I like that too. They are building a nice partnership, which shows in Brazil's relaxed eye and listening ears. I hope the work lets up so I can join in the fun.

Congrats. Your horse looks great. I like the rider, too. Seems very balanced and positive.

What super pics. They look great together and I love Brazil's curious but calm expression. Looks like a promising future! Congrats

Thanks everybody. The rider is Steph Butts. She is very correct, very tactful, totally gets mares, and puts the horses' happiness, health, and safety first. As you can see she patted my horse through the BN water-- Brazil isn't just Competing Machine #10 to her but a student she encourages and cares for. If you have to become an absentee owner it's important to find someone like her.

I only saw Brazil at the expo but that sounds like what I would have thought would be her perfect match. She was such a good girl but looked sensitive in a good way, one of those wonderful classy mares.

That's right. She is a very good girl and she is quite confident and level-headed but she is not a kick-along ride.
