Crazy newbie question - white speckles on udder??
I'll probably regret asking this as it is bound to be a foolish question!!
My mare is at day 341 and udder is developing, but doesn't seem full yet. Yesterday, she started getting tiny white speckles all over her udder. Mostly the one side yesterday, now both sides today. They don't rub off...sort of like tiny reverse freckles. Does this mean anything?? One of my Facebook friends wrote that her mare developed similar speckles and had foal the next day! How I would love for that to be the case!

Usually means you have only a couple of days before foaling! There are variables of course, but generally speaking, it's close!!!

I dunno...my mare is approx 245 days, she has had numerous foals and she has those white speckles. She is no where even close to foaling.

Hmmm. Two of my mares get those white spots too but not always close to foaling.
And no question is a stupid question - listening, looking, asking, learning, it's all good!

My mare had those speckles come and go, stay for a while, go away for a day or two, when she was still weeks away.

LOL! Stayed up all night glued to the camera, but nothing happened! And this morning the speckles lokoed like they had faded somewhat when I checked. The wait continues! The milk bar is definitely getting there...I am going to attempt milk testing tonight.
Gosh...I hope it's not too much longer. I am going to lose what's left of my mind.
