Getting a new Aussie puppy! Updated with pictures!
Excited, just have to share!
So a lady that DH works with has a 5 month old male blue merle Aussie pup she wants to find a new home for. DH tells her if it was a female he'd say yes in a heartbeat. I come home and he tells me. I prefer the girls, too, but without missing a beat I said Yes. The lady is thrilled (because she thinks DH is awesome anyway!) and I should be getting said hyper pup tomorrow!
We're taking bets as to whether he'll wear out my year-old Corgi pup or will it be the other way around. Apparently the pup is a shoe thief, but doesn't chew them, just steals and hides them!
He'll lose his manhood in short order. I'm pretty sure he's old enough- I haven't had a male pup in forever.
Anything I should know about Aussies other than the ivermectin sensitivity? Tell me stories! Pictures!

My two Kentucky Aussie's say congratulations! Great dogs! Just need to be channeled for good instead of evil. I've been resisting the temptation to get a third one.

I was just laying on the loveseat and DH comes home from work a little early, depositing the pup on my lap. What a little lover! He just laid there being sweet and licking my face for about an hour while the Corgis decided to be mad about the new addition.
We went outside and the pup and the young Corgi decided that having friends to play with is very cool.
The pup just kinda looked at the horses- wasn't afraid, but wasn't very interested either. When I was cleaning stalls, the pup started to enter with me, but a simple "no" was all it took to stop him. Aussies don't come in "dumb" I don't think.
He's sitting on my lap right now! Pictures!

Oh my goodness, he is adorable! And the two pups look so happy together. I predict a very long friendship between the two of them. Congratulations!

As Mom to a black-tri Aussie girl, I can tell you emphatically that they do not come in "dumb"! Stubborn? Yes! Stupid? Never!!!!!
Enjoy! He looks like a winner to me.

Aussies and Corgi's are a great mix! Have had both together for many years now :-) He is adorable and looks so much like my first Aussie did when she was that young.

Congrats! He is so cute! I have had two standard size aussies in the past, and currently own a mini black tri female. They can be wicked smart and somewhat stubborn. They definitely need to have activities. My dog goes to dog obedience once once per week, and does therapy dog visits a few times a month. She just started agility lessons this week. She goes to the barn with me every day.
