Benicio is throwing lots of bling on his babies.

I wanted to use Benicio last year. The broker in Canada had an exclusive and wasn't helpful at all. In the end no semen. Was anyone able to purchase Benicio semen last year in North America? Or this year? Lovely foals.

Global Equine Sires was able to get it last year, but I don't know if anyone used it. Benicio is listed as available this year as well.

The #1 horse, Fritz, is going to go for a lot of money.

Reportedly there won't be any Benicio semen this year - be it frozen or fresh chilled. So unless there is any readily sitting in N.A. I doubt there will be any on the market on your end.
Our first one is just born and has a tremendous cute-factor she was very correct on her limbs right from the start. She is not for sale (Austrian-owned) but thought you'd like to see pictures anyway.

They are showing training videos (assuming that it is live):

Wednesday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. EST for the dressage horses

Thursday, April 4 at 10:00 a.m. EST for the jumpers.

Oh my Lord Kareen that filly is a cutie!

Why is Benicio semen so hard to get? He is a horse I'd use in a heartbeat.

Fritz was the most expensive horse at 92,000 Euro.

foal prices are unchanged, but riding horse prices are down 21% over the April 2012 elite auction. That can't be making anyone happy over there.

I went and saw the horses in person (rode a couple) . . . felt the overall quality was down from the past few years as well. A few standouts and those sold for good money, but the rest seemed very average . . . certainly more like a Winter Auction collection instead of the "Elite" Auction. . . .
Not sure what the exact explanation is, but part of me is thinking that with the economy the way it is and auction prices always being a risk, owners of top young horses are holding onto them and offering them for sale privately rather than risking a low price through the auction, given that the auction prices have been dropping over the past few years. And of course, politics may play a role too . .

Agree with Kdavies on the quality. In fact, we thought that the prices were quite good for what did seem like the Winter Auction collection.
