    Default Scam or Good Deal???

I've been looking for a new saddle and I came across this one on Ebay:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/271171851308...84.m1586.l2649

It says it's brand new with buffalo leather, but the price seems so low! The seller has good feedback, but you never know.

Does this look like a scam or someone just needing the money?

I'm going good deal. A friend just a similar saddle online - ridden in less than 10 times, in calfskin - for about the same price. Hers was in a more unusual size so I attributed it to being harder to sell. The person selling it had gotten out of horses and needed it gone.

They have the serial number listed, which is a good sign.

I would say good deal. It says "Local pickup okay", which confirms it.

It looks to be a 2011 model, buffalo/grain (which is the same year and leather as mine) I paid $4,400. So I'm assuming that since it's 2 years old, that may be why the price is lower. Also- some people just like to get out from underneath saddles when they are in a financial bind or if they want it to be a quick sale transaction! They provided the serial number, which is a great sign, you can always contact CWD with the serial number to confirm the specs of the saddle and to ensure it isn't stolen (i highly, highly doubt that!). Seller's feedback is great!

My recommendation would be contact the seller, see how well they communicate, and if you'd like, contact CWD and check out the info based on the serial number!

    Great deal

Good deal! I suspect that a "savvy" scammer wouldn't provide the serial number, but you can contact CWD to double check.

Also, in my opinion, someone trying to illicitly unload a stolen saddle is probably unlikely to have a brand new one, but who knows, I guess.

ETA: Those are the exact same specs as my saddle, by the way, so I can promise you that it's comfy!

Yeah I get a kick out of these threads "Do you think I should buy this horse, this saddle???" Well honey while you think about it .... I actually did buy a saddle I saw posted on a thread here awhile back. And thank whomever. I really appreciated it - love the saddle.

    Question

I'm just curious what is going on in the seam where the seat meets the panel on the off side. It shows in two views.
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.
