Default 2000's Equispirit Trailer Ramp - rotting issues

Have been doing some online research (note: internet is a dangerous place!) regarding Equispirit trailers.

Mostly in forums, I keep seeing issues (that were similar to Trailet ramp issue design flaws) about Equispirit ramps rotting inside.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this?

Considering a used 2000 era trailer.

I have only ever looked at Gores, and never had this issue with my previous Gore trailers.

I have a 2001 Equispirit trailer and my ramp has not had any issues other than being a bit heavy to lift. I will certainly ask my mechanic to take a closer look at my ramp this spring when the annual maintenance is done. Thanks for the heads up.

My 2003 equispirit had this issue along with some others that I ended up having to pay to repair myself. Love the design of the trailer but would definitely think twice before investing in another like it.

My '94 Trail-Et ramp was heavy to lift when I first purchased it (second-hand). When I removed the ramp matting, discovered that the wood underneath was completely water-logged and that was what was making it weigh so much! Replaced the wood in the ramp, and it was about a third of the original weight!
