    Default Pasterns--Dressage vs. XC

    Do dressage breeders want a shorter pastern than breeders of event horses? I've been looking at some dressage pictures, and while the angles appear the same to me, the length definitely looks shorter than one usually finds in TBs or part-bred event horses.

    Am I imagining things?

    It does certainly look that way judging from photos of various upper level horses in each discipline. However, I've never heard any breeders talk about this specifically. I would also be interested in hearing if they do have a preference
