Default Clip Clop NY 2013 Idea

How about starting up the NYC Work Horse Parade again.

This was a parade started in 1907 by the Women's Aux of the ASPCA to encourage better care for working horses in NYC. It was based on existing parades in London and Boston. The original was not for 'hacks' or carriages for hire, but since the carriage horses are the last of the working driving horses in NY... wouldn't it be cool to re-enact the parade (from the hack line through the park) but set up as a real parade with awards for great turnouts.

Maybe this is something Mane n Tail can get behind too.

We'd have to figure out a way to maximize the education aspect to minimize the affect of the crazies who will certainly come out of the woodwork for this, but maybe it would be a good thing.

The original parade had awards for longest working horse/driver combo etc.

of course the original prohibited hacks, but since you are all that’s left I think we can change that

We really need a "like" button.

That would be so cool! I would help best I could from down south in Texas.

Maybe make it a country wide event in multiple cities?

Get the New York Mounted Police involved; I'm sure they'd enjoy the chance for a full-dress promenade, while doing double-duty as the nutball-repellers!
Now there are some horses who love their job!

Wouldn't it be cool if the Budweiser Clydesdales came?

the bare minimum thing one can do is ask their PR department for support!
(if you don't ask, the answer is always no, as my dad usually says)
