Default Mine That Bird movie out this year

Don't think this has been posted yet, but then I didn't check with Glimmerglass http://horsetalk.co.nz/2013/03/09/mi...out-this-year/

Ha! The last I think had on the movie was this announcement from 2012 with the film production.

For those MTB fans he'll return to Churchill Downs and will stay there for the spring meet.

[Mine That Bird] will be the Kentucky Derby Museum’s resident thoroughbred during Churchill Downs’ spring meet. It’s the first time that a Derby winner has been at the museum.

Blach said people come four or five times a week to Double Eagle to see Mine That Bird, including recently a woman from Maryland who spent three days visiting the gelding.

“He’s really got a fan base,” he said. “I’m just amazed how many people and cards and letters we get for him all the time.”
Not sure where he exactly will "live" to then be visible to fans. I'm assuming there is no room in the gift shop.

Well, they had that place (a paddock, I assume with a stall somewhere) for a "meet the thoroughbred" place with a retired gelding who was there for museum visitors/tourists to see...I assume people this meet will just get to meet a REALLY FAMOUS thoroughbred.

Does anyone remember how tall he is?

Yet another proposed release date: March 21, 2014 is cited now for 50-to-1

The cowboys face a series of mishaps on their way to Churchill Downs, becoming the ultimate underdogs in a final showdown with the world’s racing elite.
With characterizations like that I fear the worst of yet another poor vs. rich type of positioning. When MTB won the Derby in 2009 the field wasn't exactly ruled by uber wealthy blowhards and Sheiks. In fact Tom McCarthy the retired school teacher with ex-claimer 'General Quarters' was far more of the feel good story before the gates opened.

One of the runners in that Derby was Mr. Hot Stuff who continues to race as a steeplechaser with more success than ever.

I'm sure it will be low budget and hoaky. BUT I'll watch it anyway.

You never miss a chance to diss this horse, do you?
Give him some credit. He won the race by 6 lengths in a time better than many, including this year's Orb. Not many others in the long history of this race have slapped the competition so resoundingly.

MHS was my pic for that Derby. Didn't show much there but he is one of the best looking and well conformed TBs I've ever seen. Very athletic with a good work ethic too! Wonder when he'll go to stud?

Wow I didn't read that as disrespectful of MTB at all, just a concern that the film makers would artificially insert a blue blood vs blue collar element that was less prevalent in that Derby than most. Not sure if you and Glimmerglass have some sort of history, but it looks to me like you're reading too far in to her post.

Sorry to have to tell you, but he was gelded.
