I have a full cheek bit, with a Dr. Bristol sort of mouthpiece, but the link in the center is much wider than other bits, I would say over 1/3 of the total mouthpiece is the link, I would really like another, but don't know where I got this one, or what it is called - HELP!
I know exactly what you're talking about. It's technically still called a "Full cheek Dr. Bristol" bit, but they don't make them with the plate that large anymore for whatever reason. You can find one on Ebay if you search regularly--but it's often not listed as a "Dr. Bristol" but rather a french link or something.
They don't make the plate that large any more because it puts the joits right on the bars of the horse's jaw when one reason issued firmly. Ouch. Most French links and other double jointed bits are designed to try very hard to avoid that happening.
