Does anyone use Bigeloil's before they ride? It seems to help my mare loosen up a bit and I was wondering if anyone else used liniment before they rode?
Are there any reasons not to that I should be aware of?
I've used liniment before rides for the same reason, just not under the saddle and do not use boots/wraps over.
Just do not put it anywhere that any piece of tack, bandage or boot is going to a avoid heat build up and possible blistering.
When opportunity knocks it's wearing overalls and looks like work.

I prefer to use Sore No More gel before riding rather than Bigeloil or liniment. You can put it under wraps or even under the saddle pad because it doesn't blister and helps to warm up the muscles.
I've poured Bigeloil over horses backs and legs before races. I don't know that it makes them run any faster, but they do seem comfortable. Lots of people do.

I once put some Bigeloil in my bath after a hard riding day. Felt great!
I never thought about trying it on myself.
