I just purchased a 5 y/o dark bay OTTB mare from a trainer in PA. Her JC name is Happy Minstrel. I believe that she raced as early as last year. She has about 27 starts and has won around $70k in her lifetime. I do have owner/trainer names and would be happy to share via PM. I totally trust these people, and doing business with them has been awesome.

I can't, however, find ANY record of her in any of the search databases. Not that it's any big deal, since she's a lovely mare with or without, but it strikes me as a bit strange so I thought that I'd turn to you racing experts to see if that happens a lot or if anybody recognizes the mare? I've posted in the FB group as well, with no responses.

I'm a bloodline junkie, and I'd LOVE to find any kind of race/win pictures, plus it's kind of frustrating to not find a history of her at all! Mare hits KY tomorrow and I can update with pics if that'd be more helpful.

I can see the confusion since her dam, Minstrel Zone, has the spelling you were given for your horse.

You didn't mention whether the sellers told you the name of her dam, and you may know this already, but you can search by the name of the dam on the equibase site. If you leave out year of birth it will list all foals.

Thanks everybody. She's my first OTTB of my very own! I've started lots for people, but finally decided to take the plunge myself. She'll be here today at noon!

Peteypie- They couldn't remember the name of her dam when I was looking at her, but I just figured I could search her on Equineline later...oops. That's a nifty trick though, thank you!

You can get win pictures by contacting the photograper at the track where she picked up her wins, with the date and race number.

A good bet for looking up a TB when you aren't 100% on how the name is spelled is to use brisnet.com as they will give you close matches (might not help here as there ARE Happy Minstrels in the database, but it can help a lot when you've got one of the funnier names.)

LOL Justa. She gets in today, so I will come back and post pictures. Hubby is coming along to play photog.

I'm hoping for a nice lower level event partner and to play around on the trails.I have one mare that I'm trying to get my USDF medals with and would REALLY love something a bit more low key to play around with.

I haven't sat on her yet, but I DID dig up her last race video! I'm kind of excited about it.
