    Default Hunter/Jumper Barns, Greenville, SC

I am looking for a Hunter/Jumper barn/trainer in Greenville, S.C. (or close surrounding area) for my daugther. She is a solid intermediate rider that will be going to college in the area and wants to continue riding while at school. She will need to ride lessons horses - needs to have a good trainer than can continue her learning, but does not need to be a top notch expensive barn. Just somewhere safe, with a knowledgeable trainer and good lesson horses. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I would stay away from Bramblewood in Greenville. The trainer is psycho. You can PM me if you want more details.

There was recently a thread on this very topic...search the forum...several folks weighed in.

Try Jodi Robertson's place (farm name escapes me) and consider driving to Landrum/Tryon. LOTS of choices up there. When I lived in SC (near Clemson) I made the Landrum/Tryon drive and wouldn't cease to do it again were I to move back.

PM mroades, too, she can give you some suggestions.

I recommend Jodi (mentioned above), Lee and Amanda Cone, and Jeanie Smith/Clearview. I've known them all for over 20 years, and they are all great people and horsemen. You can also go to www.farmhousetack.com and check out the "local barns" link.

I put another vote in for Jodi Robertson. One of my good friends rides with her through the Furman IHSA team (she is their coach) and has really enjoyed it. Her farm is Foxwood Farm (http://www.foxwoodstables.com).

Top Call in Travelers Rest is my recommendation, but all so far are good as well, including the warning

I can recommend Jodi Robertson at Foxwood Farm as well. I've a very happy client, I've been there four years and love it!

Foxwood Farm is in Marietta, SC. Another vote for Jodi here!

Thank you all for your suggestions! It is a big help! We are visiting Top Call Farm for sure, but I am still trying to get ahold of Foxwood Farms.

I can personally recommend Gerald and Betsy Pack (Stoney Knoll Farms of Columbus, NC) or Lee and Amanda Cone (Windbrook Farm of Gowensville, SC). Both are great.
