Flake (Florencio x Metternich)
Has anyone used this stallion or seen him in person? I know last year was his first year breeding; are there any foals on the ground yet?

How could you name a horse Flake?

Perhaps it means something different in Germany? Car manufacturers have the same problem -- who wants to drive a car named a "Probe"? or cars that have a different meaning when translated?

He is a really nice type - hate to admit it but I have not heard of him before. He is refined and an elegant mover. Wonder how he jumps, with that movement and a nice jump he'd win in hunters (sacriledge, I know!)

Seen him in Person. But have my note on him not in reach.
Flake is not a german word maybe someone wanted to used flake as in snowflake...
Common opinion amoung some breeder friends of mine: The name is program, and the horse is not needed. Nicely black, but the back looks as if not used at all.

@Nootka, I think thats where the name came from
And we'll see what will happen with him... He might just disappear like many stallions before.. Obviously he has a very nice temperament, and he has a brother in Finland who is competing in S-dressage level already and sired some foals...
My mare is decending from a xx line which was liked only by very few breeders and she has some relatives (maternal halfbrother and Cousin) who compete very sucessfully on GP Dressage level... So I guess the future will tell what will happen to Flake......

Alexandra, I get what you mean. I also dislike the way he is over the back, his loin and quarters look weak and disjointed to me. The rest I like a lot!
