    Default New Orleans/Louisiana area!

Hello! I am moving to New Orleans in a little less than a year and I plan on (once settled in) buying my own horse and showing. What is the hunter/jumper scene like? I am mainly into dressage and eventing and hunting but I would LOVEEEE to try out jumpers. I did it in PC years ago and loved it. I wouldn't mind doing adult EQ either as I have been showing on my IHSA team while in college. I would like to try my hand out at some rated stuff but would like to have a reputable trainer to help me out. Any suggestions? I prefer more private barns than larger equestrian centers if that helps. I am also willing to board at a private barn and trailer for lessons once a week. I know the North Shore is very horsey but I do not know any reputable trainers in that area. Thanks for the input and I look forward to my move!

Genie Harper is in Folsom. Small but nice facility, great care, very knowledgeable.

Definitely Genie Harper at Oak Haven Farm for primarily hunters or TJ LeBlanc at Fox Ridge Farm for both hunter and jumper, both in Folsom.

TJ is good. I love Hunter's Bluff in Covington, great people, beautiful facility.

My little farm is in Covington too but we do predominantly schooling shows (don't know what you're looking to do) with only 4-5 AA shows a year.
