    Default KY stone fences

We are considering buying a farmette that has some stone fences that need repair. At one time I thought there was state money available to assist in rebuilding these fences. Any body have input?

I was able to find this link (you will have to download the PDF)

KY Statute on Dry Stone Fences that talks about a rock fence preservation fund.

Although considering the current economic climate, I don't know how much money they have to give out.

Might contact Lexington-based "Dry Stone Conservancy"

    http://www.drystone.org/

back in 2007 they atempted a proposal before the State that would provide the fence owners a tax credit for half the cost to repair or restore dry-laid stone fences and 35 percent for repairing fences made with stone and mortar -- provided the walls are at least 50 years old.
