Default Explaining breakover, uneven hoof, and how it affects stride, trajectory of foot?

Anyone have a link that can help me visualize this? My grasp of geometry is pretty pathetic.

You know.. that's really helpful when I'm looking to see how a high lateral wall on random feet affects the landing force and possibly makes a horse forge. And my gawd, there's FOUR of 'em

Guess I should just feel lucky he's still got feet.

Perhaps, though they are just the tip of the iceberg, these will help:
    http://www.equipodiatry.com/article_...on_shoeing.htm
    http://www.vipsvet.net/articles/biomechanics.pdf
    http://www.roodandriddle.com/hoofcapsuledistortion.html
    http://www.neverbluefarm.com/article...of%20Angle.pdf
Be sure to check out the bibliographies for more reading.

And, if you want some real headbanging(if you're not well versed in applied physics) reading, start with this: http://www.horseshoes.com/farrierssi...mechanics1.htm and then pull up more of Dr. Rooney's work.

All of the referenced articles should be read several times in order to really understand them. ymmv

Appreciated those links. I'd love to see pictures or even better, a video of how a high lateral wall affects the trajectory of the leg, specifically hind. Or even an another article to read!
