She was just being truthful. She was equally positive about how far the pony has come; so, it's really all OK.
There have been many here who have already eluded to or come out and stated that there are ponies who aren't going to have the big horse gaits. Personally I choose to train this one and wish to see how far we can go. A 60 for me, regardless of level, is golden, not much other than to spit on for others; but, I do try to keep it all in perspective
The pony is a keeper and one I really love to ride. This is actually a judge who "likes" the pony.....just imagine if she didn't
Get a tripod or one of those squiggly 3-legged moldable tripod things that are made for wrapping around things. Set it up at C or A. Ride. I think for best visibility of seeing you and the horse you would be better off sticking to doing circles at B or E, that way you're mostly in the frame vs. being at A or C when you're so far away or too close up.
I want to share my dressage "pony" too!
I ride for a Haflinger farm, and my project pony is actually 15.1hh, and measures into a whopping size 84 blanket (he's squeezing into a 78 and an 81 currently). He's a more modern type Haflinger, but still has significant bone (his legs are massive). He was broke at 3 (he had 90 days pro training), then sat around for 3 years, and I brought him back to work last May. We did one show at Intro last summer, and hopefully we'll be doing a few Training level tests at schooling shows this year (we're just now getting that canter under control).
Without further ado...

Nice looking boy, tonythepony! What farm do you ride for (if you don't mind my asking). The Haflinger world is a small world, so I was wondering if I knew them. What is your "pony's" registered name? He looks very promising. Good luck!
New Horizons - do you know of Winkler's Halflingers? They are the breeder of the boy I just bought. I would love any more info on his sire/dam, etc. if they still have it. Not sure if they'd still have foal pics, he's 14. But I'd love to collect as much info as possible. I found a previous owner from when he was 1-2, and she gave me a little more info. His registered name is Arthur HW.
