    Default Strange Headgear on Pony

Ran across this pic out there on the WWW. I've never seen the purple thing under the halter before. It kind of looks like part of a head sleazy. Just wondering what the purpose of this under the halter would be.

It looks to be some sort of flymask. There's a black, see through fabric over the eyes, which isn't really apparent in the version you linked, but is pretty obvious when you blow it up:

You are right - thanks. I hadn't blown it up that far, but when you do it's obviously a fly mask.

Found it here. Have never seen a lycra fly mask before, just the velcro kind.

It's a fly mask--there is black mesh over the pony's face.

You'd be surprised. I tried that on a small pony who could take off anything on his head no matter how tight you made it (halter, grazing muzzle, etc). He took off the lycra fly mask too. I must admit, it did take at least 30 mins which is about 25 mins longer than anything else.

I would be worried about all that extra fly mesh getting inverted and poking ponee in the eyes. They can't reach up with a hand and pull it away.

The mesh very soft, and doesn't invert or "poke." It's like a traditional mosquito netting, rather than the hard "door screen" material of many fly masks.
